Traveling With Electronics : Moving The Gift Forward

watch all the time.....listen to everything

.....play from your heart

It is just a year now since my dear friend Butch Morris left the physical world.

During this time I have been honored to be part of a dedicated team that includes Alexander Morris, Daniela Veronesi, Allan Graubard and Alessandro Cassin. This team has been working together on the editing, assembling and publishing of The Conduction Workbook by Lawrence D. "Butch" Morris (2/10/47 - 1/29/13).

Things are moving forward and we are in hopes of a 2014 release of the workbook.

CONDUCTION is a vocabulary of signs and gestures transmitted by a conductor to an orchestra, providing instantaneous possibilities for altering or initiating, harmony, melody, rhythm, articulation, phrasing or form. Conduction was originated by Butch and is truly a profound gift to the world of music. The middle path between notation and improvisation.

I collaborated with Butch for 28 years and have been conducting for 15 years. My most recent Conduction ensemble project is The Out of Context Guitar Choir.

Carlos is going to do the final mix (about 90 minutes of music), and then I will do the editing and assembly. The final recording will be available as a digital download through High Mayhem, in late spring of this year. http://highmayhem.org/downloads/

I have taken the last piece from the second section of the session (just the MS room mics), and set it to a collage of 56 still images taken at the session. I hope you enjoy this little taste of the upcoming release from the OOC - ELECTRIC GUITAR CHOIR.

until next month.....when we'll take a little look at the history and current state of digital pitch-shifting

safe travels.....dino
